Welcome to the Mark Munsell Memorial
Foundation
Our Mission
The Mark Munsell Memorial Foundation rallies communities together and allows everyone the opportunity to help children have a brighter future. The Foundation works to nurture children through various avenues; sponsoring area scholarships and under funded programs, giving children access to sporting events, equipment, camps and services that they would not otherwise have. The Foundation’s ultimate goal is to one day build a ball park where all children can play, regardless of their economic or athletic background.
In the Spring of 2007, the Foundation finalized a plan with the Animal House Fund and Ellendale Neighborhood Association to develop a park in the city of St. Louis.
Who are we?
We are a Missouri not for Profit
Corporation in existence since
December of 2003. Our goal is to
help children mature and become
better adults through athletics. We
feel that this is the best way that
Mark can be remembered as sports
were so important to him.
Also, we have endowed a scholarship
at Southeast Missouri State
University, Mark's alma mater. Mark
played football and baseball with
SEMO. Together the University and
the Foundation will ensure his
memory lives on forever with the
Mark Munsell Memorial Scholarship.
This scholarship will be announced
this fall, fully funded by fall of
2008, and awarded annually to a
worthy recipient.
Please review some of the
information we have included, and
call any of the board members should
you have any questions or concerns.
On October 1st. 2005, the foundation
traveled to Mark's alma mater for a
very special reason. The following
link from the newspaper tells the
story.
